Richard Fried, VMD
Chief of Staff
Dr. Fried, our Chief of Staff, has been serving the Upper West Side for over 30 years. An alumnus of Oberlin College, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. While there, he served as president of his class, was elected to the veterinary honor society, and received the prestigious Merck Award. Dr. Fried went on to complete an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Penn before moving back to New York City.
After spending 12 successful years as an associate veterinarian at Westside Veterinary Center and Animal General, Dr. Fried founded Lincoln Square Veterinary Hospital in 2000. Since then, he has seen it grow into a flourishing practice where his commitment to client relationships and the highest level of companion animal care continues to attract patients from all over the city.
Dr. Fried is also a member of Veterinarians for Animal Rights, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). At home he attends to a parrot, a turtle, a fish, rascally rats, and the other loves of his life: his wife Stella and daughters Lila and Sylvie.
